the dial
Everything here is in one face on one dial, --informal. Turn it and the letters follow, from neat print at 0 to a bouncing hand at 100. The case stays put: sentence case below 50 is the writer's job, and a stylesheet given it would capitalise phy.
a page of notes
A notes page is the style guide with the numbers taken off. Links are underlined in pencil, and bold is the only emphasis that shows from across the room. Long words and github.com/rareone0602/phy_friends break rather than push the page sideways.
a smaller heading
- one idea to a line
- a dash for a bullet, in the lightest ink
- no gap under a heading
measure twice, cut once.
a carpenter's rule
Set the rule with --L; every height is a whole number of them:
:root {
--L: 32px; /* one rule */
--ink: #3d3c39; /* graphite */
}
| ink | contrast | use it for |
|---|---|---|
| ink | 10.5 : 1 | anything |
| ink‑2 | 5.1 : 1 | quieter words, the lines of controls |
| ink‑3 | 2.9 : 1 | marks only, never words |
| red | 5.4 : 1 | errors only |
